Whole Foods Market
Whole Foods Towson occupies multiple levels of The York, a student housing and retail project in downtown Towson also designed by MV+A. The site falls over 30’ from the north and mandated complicated planning solutions to accommodate a busy Whole Foods.
Whole Foods had previously committed to the site, but withdrew when the project got tangled in planning and design issues. MV+A helped the new developer, Greenberg Gibbons, to reengage with Whole Foods by offering a prominent corner location and thoughtful design that met the myriad of Whole Foods’s requirements.
The site features loading at the top level, two levels of parking on an adjacent parcel, store entrances on multiple levels and a prominent café and pub overlooking a retail plaza and York Road. MV+A also designed the interiors for Whole Foods including finishes and lighting.
